Treatment Resistant Kids/Teens

Our Approach

We hear from a lot of clients that they want their children to get help but their children are not willing to engage in therapy. We understand that this can be a frustrating and distressing. Thankfully, Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) therapy is a way to treat childhood anxiety without the presence of the child.  It is treatment for the child by focusing on changes parents can make in how they respond to the child's anxiety by being more supportive and less accommodating.  Studies have shown that SPACE treatment is just as effective as individual treatment. SPACE treatment has been successful for kids and teens with OCD, school avoidance/refusal, separation anxiety, fears/phobias, social anxiety, general anxiety, and selective mutism.

If you are interested in attending one of our SPACE groups, please fill out our screening form under the New Client tab.
