George Whiteley, LLMSW, is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in the treatment of anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD) in adults. George earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan School of Social Work with a concentration in clinical practice. He completed a one-year internship and a two-year postgraduate fellowship with the Anxiety Disorders Program within Michigan Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry, where he served as Chief Fellow during his second year. George has obtained advanced training in several evidence-based treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT), motivational interviewing (MI), and psychodynamic therapy. He has a particular interest in exposure-based therapies, including exposure and response prevention (ERP), and facilitated a weekly ERP group for adults with OCD during the second year of his fellowship.

George is dedicated to providing effective, evidence-based treatments in a comfortable, safe, and collaborative environment to help his clients achieve their goals. He continues to advance his skill set through supervision from expert clinicians affiliated with the Anxiety and OCD Treatment Center.
