George Whiteley, LMSW
George Whiteley, LMSW, is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in the treatment of anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD) in adults and adolescents. George earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan with a concentration in clinical practice. He completed a one-year clinical internship and then a two-year postgraduate fellowship with the Anxiety Disorders Program within Michigan Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry, where he served as chief fellow during his second year. George has training in several evidence-based treatment modalities, including exposure and response prevention (ERP), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). He facilitated a weekly ERP group for adults with OCD during the second year of his fellowship.
George is a professional member of the Anxiety & Depression Association of America (ADAA) and was a Career Development Leadership Program awardee at the 2026 ADAA conference, where he also led a workshop on evidence-based treatments for anxiety and depression.
George is dedicated to providing effective, evidence-based treatments in a comfortable, safe, and collaborative environment to help his clients achieve their goals. He continues to advance his skill set through supervision from expert clinicians affiliated with the Anxiety and OCD Treatment Center.
