Emily Fisher, LMSW

Emily Fisher, LMSW is a licensed clinical Social Worker who specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD) in adults. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 2016 with an emphasis on Mental Health and Interpersonal Practice, and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan in 2013. Emily recently completed a two year Postgraduate Social Work Fellowship at University of Michigan’s Mary A. Rackham Institute (MARI), where she received extensive training in treating adults with mood and anxiety disorders using a range of treatment modalities. Emily has obtained advanced training in evidence based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She has also received advanced training in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples.

Emily utilizes CBT, ACT, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) in her treatment approach. Emily has experience utilizing these skills in treatment of Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Specific Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Hoarding Disorder. She continues to advance her skills by receiving supervision from expert clinicians affiliated with the Anxiety and OCD Treatment Center.

Emily understands that engaging in treatment for individuals with anxiety and OCD is often difficult. To help clients take on this challenge, she is dedicated to providing effective evidence based treatment while maintaining a comfortable, safe environment for clients to grow.
