Emily Humesky, LMSW

Emily Humesky, LMSW, is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD) in adults, adolescents, and children. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan (2016) and completed a two-year Postgraduate Social Work Fellowship at the University of Michigan's Mary A. Rackham Institute (MARI), receiving in-depth training in various treatment modalities for mood and anxiety disorders in adults.
Emily has advanced training in several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Habit Reversal Training (HRT) and Comprehensive Behavioral Therapy (ComB) for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRB). She has also received advanced training in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples.
In her treatment, Emily utilizes CBT, ACT, and ERP. She has experience applying these therapy modalities in the treatment of Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Specific Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Hoarding Disorder. Since 2021, Emily has been leading the HRT for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors through the clinic.
Emily also enjoys providing consultation for outside providers. Her aim is to increase knowledge of obsessive-compulsive disorders and anxiety disorders and to empower therapists to provide effective evidence-based care for their clients.
Emily recognizes the challenges individuals face when seeking treatment for anxiety and OCD. She is committed to providing effective care within a comfortable and safe environment that fosters client growth. Her belief is that treatment can empower clients to live the lives they desire.
