Sara Tischler, LMSW
Sara Tischler, LMSW, completed her masters training in clinical social work with an emphasis on mental health and interpersonal practice at the University of Michigan School of Social Work in 2013. She completed her internship year at the University of Michigan Health System within the Department of Ambulatory Psychiatry, where her clinical interests focused on the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder in children and adolescents. In 2015, Sara completed a post-masters clinical social work fellowship at the University of Michigan Health System, where she served as a member of the child and adolescent anxiety team. She now holds a staff position in Ambulatory Psychiatry at the University of Michigan Health System. Sara remains heavily involved in the education of Social Work graduate students, including the supervision of interns. Sara has received advanced training in evidence-based treatments including cognitive behavioral techniques for Social Anxiety disorder, Specific Phobias, OCD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, impulse control disorders, Panic Disorder, and mood disorders, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Prolonged Exposure. Additionally, she has extensive experience with autism spectrum disorder. Sara specializes in obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder with co-occurring depression. Sara is committed to providing effective evidence-based treatments in order to help patients of all ages learn effective skills to reduce and manage current and future symptoms. In addition to clinical treatment and clinical training, Sara has also been involved in clinical research on the causes and treatment of OCD and has given numerous community presentations on mental health.

As of February 1, 2018, Sara will no longer be in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS). Currently payment is expected at the time of service. If your insurance covers out of network therapy, we can provide documentation that you will submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please review questions to ask about your insurance coverage here. We are also able to give you a proof of service receipt if you wish to submit it to your Health Savings Plan (HSP/HSA) for reimbursement.
