Jami Socha, PhD, LP
Dr. Socha completed her doctoral training at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in 2014, where her research focused on identifying cognitive risk factors for the development of anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders. While living in the Chicagoland area, she trained in a variety of clinical settings, including a private practice specializing in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), forensic facility, community mental health center, and the University of Chicago Psychiatry Department (CBT program). She also previously worked as a research assistant in the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at New York State Psychiatric Institute.
A Michigan native, Dr. Socha moved to Ann Arbor to complete her pre-doctoral psychology internship at The University of Michigan's Mary A. Rackham Institute (MARI) where she received extensive training in treating children, adults, couples, and families. She went on to complete a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in the institute's adult clinic, the University Psychological Clinic.
Trained as a scientist-practitioner, Dr. Socha focuses on using empirically supported treatments to treat anxiety and related disorders. She has worked with individuals of all ages (ranging from early childhood to older adulthood), and strives to create a collaborative relationship with clients and families. She values a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Dr. Socha is also well-versed in using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) in the treatment of OCD, as well as exposure-based treatments for anxiety disorders broadly (Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Specific Phobias). She also has training in Habit Reversal Therapy for body focused repetitive behaviors, including Trichotillomania and Compulsive Skin Picking.
Dr. Socha is an active member of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, ADAA. She was a 2016 winner of ADAA's Alies Muskin Career Development Leadership Program award.

Dr. Socha is able to accept Blue Care Network (BCN, including M Premier) insurance. As of February 1, 2018, she will no longer be in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS). If your insurance covers out of network therapy, Dr. Socha can provide documentation to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Payment is expected at the time of service. Please review questions to ask about your insurance coverage here. Dr. Socha is also able to provide you with a proof of service receipt if you wish to submit it to your Health Savings Plan (HSP/HSA) for reimbursement.
