Classes
Our clinic frequently runs classes for specific topics. Our classes provide education about anxiety or OCD spectrum disorders and their treatment. People who have participated in these classes find they are an invaluable addition to treatment - not only because of what they learn from the class, but because they learn alongside others who have the same diagnosis. Please note that because these are classes, they are not covered by insurance, but we have developed very affordable class fees. We run classes when we have a sufficient number of participants. If you are interested in participation in one of our classes, or would like to receive more information about the class, please complete the contact form for the class. Our office manager will contact you regarding group dates/times once we have a minimum number of interested participants.
Habit Reversal Therapy (HRT) for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs). Learn about the causes and treatment of BFRBs, including trichotillomania, compulsive skin-picking, and other BFRBs. Participants are teens and adults who have their own BFRB diagnosis, or a family member with a BFRB diagnosis. Often those with a BFRB diagnosis attend with a family member.
- Topics include: Behavioral interventions, medications, family support and education about how friends and family can help, and strategies for long-term management of urges.
- Date/time. TBD. This class runs once a week, on a weekday after 5 pm, for 6 consecutive weeks.
Intrusive Thoughts. Learn about the causes and treatment of intrusive thoughts, including exposure therapy models. Past participants have said that this class has been invaluable - both for the material, but perhaps even more so from the benefit of being in a class with others who struggle with intrusive thoughts, and seeing they aren't the only ones who struggle with intrusive thoughts.
Family/Friends. We also offer a class for family/friends of clients with OCD (any type of OCD). Please see the "Family" tab for details.
